ROBERT W. DAVIES, M.B.E., F.R.A.Ee.S. Rob joined the Air Force in 1962 as a 15 year old Apprentice, where he served in Aden for 2 years working, mainly, on Blackburn Beverly's. During the last 5 years in the Air Force, he was on the mobile air movements Squadron, where, for the most part, he worked on C-130 Hercules aircraft. Rob left the Air Force in 1972, to pursue a career in Engineering. For a number of years he worked for a company developing Aerial Target Systems , and in 1982, he started his own company - "Target Technology Limited" , designing, developing and manufacturing Aerial Target Systems and Unmanned Surveillance Air Vehicles. The core product of this business is the "Banshee" Aerial Target System. This system is in service in 33 different countries. The company proved to be very successful and in 1989, Target Technology was acquired by Meggitt Defence Systems. Meggitt Defence Systems (MDS) is part of Meggitt Plc, which is a worldwide organisation, mainly supplying equipment to the Aerospace and Defence Industry. Rob still plays an active role in the running of the Company as Vice President of Meggitt Defence Systems Limited. In 1997, Rob was awarded the M.B.E for services to the Defence Industry, and has recently been made a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. <<<<< back |
